Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom discusses SCOOP Wins and First WSOP

by Jeremy

One of the biggest stories in the 2012 SCOOP has been the early domination of Viktor “Isildur1″ Blom, who won Event #2 ($215 NLHE) and Event #3 ($530 6-max NLHE). In addition to this, he’s also finished in the top 100 of three other 2012 SCOOP tournaments.

What’s truly noteworthy about all of this is that the PokerStars pro has always been known for his high stakes cash game play in the past - not online poker tournaments. Seeing as how Blom is showing a new element to his poker career, there’s a lot of people that want to talk with him now. Pocketfives was in this line, and they recently did a very interesting interview with the Swede.

When asked by Pocketfives about the significance of the cashes, Islidur1 said, “Yeah, they are very meaningful. When I started playing online, I mostly played in small tournaments, and so winning these gets me back to that feeling when I was initially so excited and enjoyed it so much. After the PCA High Roller, these are my two biggest cashes in my life, so I’m very happy.”

It’s also worth mentioning that this will be Blom’s first ever WSOP since he’s finally 21 years old. When asked about this big event, the Swede said, “I’m really looking forward to going to Las Vegas, playing in the Main Event, and just experiencing what it’s like to be there. I haven’t quite decided which events I’m definitely going to play yet, but I’m under pressure to decide. I talked to a lot of other players in Monte Carlo recently about what it’s like over there and it sounds full on, so it will be cool to actually experience it myself.”

There are some other interesting questions and answers in this interview, and you can check the entire thing out here.
