Top Poker Players Among Biggest Losers at Full Tilt

Over on the message board’s on, there is much discussion swirling over a couple of particular posts which surprisingly illustrate how two players whom are regarded being among the world’s best are actually among the biggest money losers on Full Tilt Poker, each in separate games. The two players are none other that Phil Ivey and Tom “Durrrr” Dwan.

Statistics from popular online poker tracking site, has found that Dwan and Ivey are among the biggest losing players in Pot Limit Omaha and No Limit Hold em, respectively.

According to the site, Durrrr is down an astonishing $-3.590.928,50 as of August 24th for 2009. He has played 800 sessions and played 85,077 hands. On the flip side, Ivey is up almost $3,000,000 over the same time period. Posters met the news with a bit of hesitancy as many were quick to point out that depending on when the statistics are reported, it could paint an entirely different picture altogether of how Dwan has actually fared. Given the incredible swings of the nosebleed games on Full Tilt Poker, if the same analysis were to be run a month from now, Durrrr could very well be closer to even of even in the green.

In a separate post, it is being reported that Ivey is a top No Limit Hold em money loser through August 21st of this year. According to the highstakesdb site, over 37 sessions and 6,627 hands, Ivey is actually in the red for $-1.703.852,25. It should be noted, as it was by several responders that Ivey’s sample size is actually quite small and as such, he is likely just playing the other poker forms with greater frequency. In those games, he would seem to have a much bigger edge and let’s face it, he is still regarded by many as one of the, if not the best player in the world.
