Tom McEvoy and Scotty Nguyen received very good news when they were voted into the Poker Hall of Fame this week. The only two inductees from the 10-person 2013 class, McEvoy and Nguyen now become the 45th and 46th players to get into the Poker HOF.

The 68-year-old McEvoy is best known for winning the 1983 WSOP Main Event as well as 4 total WSOP gold bracelets. Upon hearing that he made the HOF, McEvoy expressed lots of gratitude.

“I would like to thank everyone for making my election to the Poker Hall of Fame possible,” he said. “It was a very emotional day for me when I got the news. I consider this the highest honor a poker player can receive next to winning the Main Event of the World Series of Poker. I feel both deeply honored and humbled to be included with all the other poker greats. This is truly the frosting on the cake of my poker career.”

As for Nguyen, he’s become known for his table banter and antics. His famous quotes such as “You call and it’s all over baby” have made the Vietnamese-born pro a legend.

Of course, his results are what have truly made the 50-year-old a Hall-of-Fame-worthy player. He won the 1998 WSOP Main Event and 5 gold bracelets overall. Thanks to all of his big wins, he’s made over $11.73 million in tournaments.

Following his HOF induction, Nguyen stated, “Thank you so much, this is wonderful news. You work so hard, you put so much time in that you want and hope it will be recognized. This is something my grandkids will talk about. It’s awesome, baby, thank you.”
