Ryan Reynolds to star in FOX Poker Sitcom

by Jeremy Olson

While there have been plenty of poker TV shows that involve stars playing actual games, a poker sitcom is quite rare. However, FOX appears willing to take a chance on the game since they’ll be rolling out a new poker-based sitcom called “All In.”

The main point worth mentioning about this show is that Ryan Reynolds will be starring in it. Reynolds has already been grabbing lots of headlines lately because of his recent marriage to “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively. And now he’s do for even more press based on his upcoming portrayal of Tommy Vigorish.

If you’re wondering more about Vigorish, FOX described him as “a compulsive gambler trying to get back in the game with the help of his family…as long as that game does not involve the exchange of money.” Take what you will from this statement, but the show sounds intriguing nonetheless - especially if you’re into poker!

Interestingly enough, All In was approved after FOX liked a pilot episode written by Allen Loeb, who’s gained quite a bit of clout after writing movies such as “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” “Just Go With It,” and “Rock of Ages.”

As for Reynolds, he furthers this poker show’s chance of success because the Canadian has been in a number of major films and TV shows. Some of his past projects include “Green Lantern,” “The Change-Up,” “Safe House,” “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and the ABC sitcom “Two Guys and a Girl.”
