The timing of the announcement is just about perfect for PokerStars as its newest Team PokerStars Pro just happens to be a native of Russia. Ivan Demidov, a rising star in tournament poker is fresh off the heels of making the top 3 in both the US World Series of Poker as well as the European World Series of Poker establishing himself as a true international ambassador of the game and a force to be reckoned with for years to come.

In addition, PokerStars seems to be recognizing the fact that Russia is one of the world’s fastest growing poker markets and are looking to ride that wave of progress.
