PokerStars Signs Danish Pro Theo Jorgensen

by Poker Team

PokerStars announced today that they have signed Danish poker pro Theo Jorgensen to a sponsorship deal. The world’s largest online poker room was extremely pleased with the signing as Nordic Director of PokerStars Michael Holmberg said:

“Theo Jorgensen is in every way a fantastic ambassador for poker. Both his impressive merits at the tables and his positive aura fall perfectly in line with PokerStars’ values. We look forward to having such an experienced player as part of Team PokerStars Pro. Theo Jorgensen is a role model for many young and older players.”

Jorgensen has been playing poker since the early 1990’s, and he’s built an impressive resume over the years. Some of his accomplishments include winning a World Poker Tour title, winning a WSOP bracelet, and making two European Poker Tour final tables.

Jorgensen’s most recent accomplishment includes winning Episode 6 of “The Poker Lounge” where he outplayed Erick Lindgren, Barney Boatman, Huck Seed, Axel Noack, and Roland de Wolfe; Jorgensen earned $120,000 for winning this episode. He also finished 30th in the WSOP Main Event and cashed for $255,242.

In May of this year, Jorgensen made his run to the WPT Grand Prix de Paris title where he defeated Antoine Amourette heads-up to capture the win. With his Grand Prix de Paris win, Jorgensen earned the top prize of $848,736. In all, Jorgensen has earned over $2.4 million in live tournament winnings.

Besides live tournaments, Jorgensen is also known for playing $200/$400 cash games on Full Tilt Poker under the name “THEDONKEYNO1”. Now that he’s sponsored by PokerStars, it’s likely that people will be seeing Jorgensen a lot more in Stars’ high stakes games. PokerStars added $100/$200 high stakes games back in June under the name Daniel’s Room (named after Daniel Negreanu).
