Phil Ivey and Phil OMGClayAiken Win Close to a Million Each

by AintLuck.com Poker Team

Anytime an online poker player can finish a session up over a half million dollars in a single day, it is a newsworthy subject. To hear that two players won close to a million dollars each on the same day, well, that is just remarkable. However, this event is exactly what went down as both Phil Ivey and Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond were each able to win about $800,000 at Full Tilt.

The path the two players took were starkly different however. Ivey was quite comfortable gambling it up and taking coin flips to make his money, whereas Galfond played over 1,400 hand of $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha and grinded his way to a big day.

They weren’t the two only big winners yesterday however as pro, Cole South emerged with a win of a more “modest $311,000.

For the winners to win, there had to be losers and the biggest one of those yesterday was clearly Ziigmund. Ziigmund managed to lose an astounding $1.3 million over the course of a mere 317 hands. This equates to losing $4,191 per hand or the equivalent of 10 big blinds. Though no one tracks that, one would think this must be some type of dubious record.

It should come as no surprise however, that Tom “Durrrr” Dwan won the largest pot of the day on Full Tilt (or anywhere else for that matter).

As usual, the big money players in Full Tilt’s nosebleed games continue to put the “ex” in excitement. Who knows what this weekend will have in store for the global railbirds.
