Mike Matusow Mad over being dropped by Full Tilt Poker

by Jeremy Olson on January 28, 2013

Mike Matusow has made himself relevant in the poker world again after winning the 2013 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. He earned a $750,000 first place prize after outlasting the 64-player field and a final match with Phil Hellmuth.

That said, maybe Matusow will draw interest from a potential sponsor since he’s currently without a deal. He wasn’t picked back up by his old sponsor, Full Tilt Poker, when the site was reopened on November 6th, 2013.

FTP only signed Viktor Blom, Gus Hansen and Tom Dwan after reopening, which Matusow isn’t too happy about. ‘The Mouth’ said, “You know, I was hoping to catch back on with Full Tilt. But they don’t want me, you know it looks like.” He added, “I don’t know why, I’m a walking billboard. It’s crazy, I walk around here and everybody knows who I am. Everybody wants pics and autographs.”

Matusow wasn’t finished as he said, “Why anybody wouldn’t want me to represent them is beyond me. But they wanna have these internet kids with no personalities and nobody even knows who they are. Hey I’m not gonna beg somebody to make them money. I know what I bring to the table.”

The Mouth would go on to say that he stuck by Full Tilt through thick and thin and was disappointed about not be re-sponsored. He reiterated the “walking billboard” comment as well and finished by saying that Blom and Hansen were “stone degenerates who go in and out of money every week.”

It’s easy to see that Matusow is pretty bitter about not having a deal with his former site. But perhaps he can sign with another big-name online poker room following the NBC victory.
