June 27, 2008

Martin Klaser - Full TiltMartin Klaser, the young 21 year old German poker phenom, outlasted a final table with 8 time bracelet winner Erik Seidel to win Event 43, the $1,500 Pot Limit Omaha 8 or better tournament at the 2008 WSOP. This marks Germany’s 3rd bracelet so far at this year’s WSOP. Klaser won in dominating fashion by eliminating over half of the final table and claiming nearly every heads-up pot. Klaser becomes one of the youngest bracelet winners at the WSOP as only 5 other winners have been younger.

The event attracted 720 entries which created a total prize pool of $982,800. This was the largest tournament of its kind in history by topping last year’s record of 687.
