Mario Ho Joins Team UB.com

You may not like them, you may not trust them fully, but say this about UB.com, they are really trying hard to revamp their tarnished image. Once the site of the Russ Hamilton-led worst cheating scandal in online poker history, the embattled site on the CEREUS poker network has worked tirelessly in attempts to improve their image in the public eye. They have launched some eye opening promotions and have gone out of their way to sign some very “trustworthy” sponsors in the eyes of the poker community. In started about 2 years ago with the signing of the likeable and media-savvy Joe Sebok, founder of Pokerroad.com and has continued ever since.

The latest signing is someone who is not only enjoying the best poker of her career, but is also a player who is somewhat in the public eye as well, Mario Ho, of Amazing Race fame. Two seasons ago, Ho teamed up with her best friend and fellow poker pro Tiffany Michelle, and though the two clashed on camera on several occasions, they managed a 6th place finish, becoming the longest lasting female only team of the season.

When reached for comment regarding the signing, Ho said excitedly,

“To be a part of Team UB, which boasts a well-respected roster of pros that have achieved so much and stood the test of time in the game such as Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke, as well as newer pros to the scene that have incredible success and talent such as Eric Baldwin and Adam Levy, is something I am proud of.”

Ho is expected to represent the site at live events in which she is participating as well as writing a blog in both English and her native Mandarin Chinese on the UB.com site. Her family moved from China to Los Angeles when she was just 4 years old but managed to retain her native language which should enable her to expand her scope into the Chinese market on behalf of her new sponsor.
