Main Event Madness Underway

Each summer, the entire poker world focuses its sights on Las Vegas, Nevada; home of the World Series of Poker. With the advent of circuit events and the Main Event’s November Nine being played out in mid-November every year, it seems as though the WSOP has morphed into a year long event. If you are a customer of online poker site,, the ramp up to this year’s tournament series has already gotten underway.

It seems that the site, which had had more than it’s share of scandals, is looking to make a strong showing at the Main Event. Starting this week, every Sunday, is running a $500+30 Super Satellite where at least one seat will be awarded. Another seat is available for every additional $12,000 in the prize pool. If you don’t have the $530 at the ready in your account, UB is also holding qualifiers into the Super Satellite every day of the week.

Additionally, is already awarding seats into the Main Event through the popular Steps tournaments. For just as little as 10 cents, players can begin to play their way up the ladder through a series of escalating tournaments which culminate with Sit and Go’s with automatic Main Event births up for grabs. For the late arriving crowd, on June 6th and June 20th, they will be holding two gigantic Super Satellites in which 25 Main Event seats are guaranteed in each. is also running a very unique promotion for all of its Main Event representatives. Any player earning an entry through the site will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize for wearing the site’s gear at the tournament. The cash prize will continue to escalate the farther a player goes in the Main Event.

Here is a breakdown of the cash awards:

Day 2 - $2,000
Cashing in Main Event - $12,000
Day 5 - $13,000
Day 6 - $14,000
Day 7 or final 54 players - $16,000
Day 8 or final 27 players - $20,000
November Nine – Minimum $100,000
5th Place - $150,000
4th Place - $200,000
3rd Place - $400,000
2nd Place - $500,000
Winner - $1 million

The only stipulation for the $1 million winning bonus is that the player must agree to a one-year endorsement contract with the site. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal.
