Is Hellmuth Bolting CEREUS?

by Omar

While embattled online poker site has made move after move looking to clean up its tarnished image following its infamous online cheating scandal, rumors are circulating that the site is on the verge of losing one of its most visible and decorated sponsored pros. Word is spreading that Phil Hellmuth, the 11-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner, a longtime member of the UB team is on its way out.

The rumor mill began to swirl as Phil Hellmuth has recently taken part in a number of live events without wearing any of his customary logo apparel. The most high profile of these sightings was at the PokerStars North American Poker Tour (NAPT) Los Angeles Bounty Shootout, a high visibility event where countless sponsored players openly represented their respective online sights. Instead, Hellmuth wore patches for the World Series of Poker Academy and Aria. Not surprisingly, many posters of popular web forum noticed Hellmuth’s omission and took to the message boards to alert the rest of the poker community. Thus, a rumor was born,

One of the more outspoken posters began a thread which centered around where the next logical move for Hellmuth could be by stating, “I really cannot see him with Full Tilt because he doesn’t really fit their image, but I can see him on the Cake Network or PokerStars (although if Daniel Negreanu keeps criticizing him, this might be a problem).”

Wherever Hellmuth ends up going, he is sure to be a hot commodity on the open market. After all, he is one of the most recognizable poker players in the world and is highly marketable. Normally not one who usually leaves things to chance, it is likely that Hellmuth already has his next opportunity already in the works.

It is all merely speculation however since at press time, Hellmuth’s likeness and name both are featured prominently on the UB and CEREUS poker network’s websites.
