David Williams gets Married with Poker Pros Present

by Jeremy Olson on July 24, 2013

Ever since he finished second in the 2004 WSOP Main Event and scooped a $3.5 million prize, David Williams has been a well-known figure in the poker world. And now, nine years after gaining international poker fame, Williams decided to tie the knot with his longtime girlfriend. He tweeted about his wedding with the following:

Today was the 2nd best day of my life (to the birth of my daughter). I married my best friend @YvetteD85. Thank you to all my guests!

He couldn’t have picked a more beautiful location either since the couple wed in Hawaii. With this kind of location, it’s no surprise some of his fellow poker pros and buddies found time to make the trip.

Jeff Madsen, David “Viffer” Peat and Jean-Robert Bellande all attended the ceremony. And knowing Bellande, there was probably some partying going on afterward. JRB tweeted about William’s joyous occasion, as you can see here:

With Joe C @AK47LV @JeffMadsenobv @4viffer on the beach in Maui about to witness @dwpoker & Yvette tie the knot.

As for Williams’ poker career, he hasn’t managed to collect any major cashes since winning the 2010 WPT Five Star World Poker Classic ($1,530,537). However, he’s fared pretty well over his entire career, as can be seen from his $8,434,235 in overall profits. Perhaps getting married will put Willams back on track and on towards some more huge tourney payouts.
