Daniel Negreanu says Full Tilt Players not getting paid

by Jeremy

Daniel Negreanu has been one of the most outspoken people when it comes to discussing the Full Tilt Poker situation. In the past, he’s been extremely critical of former FTP owners Howard Lederer, Ray Bitar and Chris Fergson, saying that they’re scumbags and thieves. This time around, he turned his attention towards Erick Lindgren and the Full Tilt Poker payouts situation.

The PokerStars pro started the interview by discussing how many people from the older poker crowd from “2004″ are involved in some type of scandal or another. He took this opportunity to make another dig at Annie Duke as he bashed her for representing UB Poker, then getting a job as the Epic Poker League commissioner.

Moving along, Negreanu talked about how he was initially quiet about Full Tilt, but when players weren’t paid, he got vocal and started bashing the site. KidPoker also said that players should forget about getting paid by FTP because “it’s not going to happen.” Assuming Lederer, Bitar and Ferguson weren’t in charge, Negreanu does think players would have eventually gotten paid after Black Friday.

When asked about why he thinks players won’t be paid, Negreanu said that the Groupe Bernard Tapie deal with FTP isn’t going to happen. Going further, he thinks that Bernard Tapie himself is just trying to throw people under the bus at this point because the deal won’t happen. The Canadian mentioned WickedChopsPoker as a source, but didn’t give any specific names as for how he got the information.

One more thing worth mentioning here is how badly Negreanu ripped on Ray Bitar. He called Bitar an idiot several times, and said that the former FTP CEO issued a totally empty statement about the site’s situation. If you’d like to hear the entire interview, you can check it out at PokerStrategy.
