Clonie Gowen Suing Full Tilt Poker

by Poker Team

One of FullTilt Poker‘s own has launched legal action against one of the world’s largest poker sites. Her lawsuit, filed on November 14th in Nevada names all of the following parties as plaintiffs:

Full Tilt Poker, Tiltware LLC, Pocket Kings Ltd., Kolyma Corporation, A.V.V., Raymond J. Bitar, Howard Lederer, Andrew Bloch, Phillip Ivey, Christopher Ferguson, John Juanda, Phillip Gordon, Erick Lindgren, Erik Seidel, Jennifer Harman-Traniello, Michael Matusow, Allen Cunningham, Gus Hansen and Patrick Antonious

The list, which includes just about all of the company’s actual owners, also names the back-end of the operation as well. TiltWare serves as FullTilts actual software provider while PocketKings runs the sites support staff. Meanwhile, it is believed that Ferguson and Bitar are two of FullTilt’s original founders while Lederer is their most visible and outspoken member and perhaps their CEO. As for the rest of the of the players named in the suit, they are the sites early investors.

The 20-page suit alleges Breach of Contract, Breach of Fiduciary Duty, Breach of the Covenant of Good Faith and Fair Dealing, Unjust Enrichment, and Fraud and Gowen is seeking to receive $400,000 in damages.

Apparently, Gowen had reached an agreement with Tiltware executives back in 2004 where a deal to endorse the website was agreed upon though nothing exists in writing, an oral agreement was made. The fact that no such documentation exists doesnt bode well for Gowens chances. The court filing details alleged phone and live meetings between Gowen and Tiltware executives where the deal for Gowen to endorse the website was agreed upon.

Upon making the court filing public, Tiltware LLC issued the following statement:

“Tiltware, LLC, has been made aware of the recent filing of a meritless lawsuit by a former Full Tilt Poker endorser — Ms. Cycalona Gowen. All claims have no merit and there are many inaccuracies improperly and unlawfully asserted by Ms. Gowen within her frivolous complaint. Tiltware LLC expects that this lawsuit will be dealt with accordingly by a competent court in due course.”

Gowen had appeared in promos for FullTilt since 2004 and filed suit upon being told her services would no longer be needed.
