Chris Moneymaker Still Plays Online Poker

by Poker Team

In case anyone has forgotten about the guy that kicked off the whole online poker craze, he still plays poker. Online. At PokerStars. He’s still pretty damn good, too. Over the weekend Chris entered into WCOOP Event #16, the $200+15 Pot Limit Omaha (1 Re-buy and 1 Add-on) at PokerStars. 1,223 players followed suit and after the re-buys and add-ons were tallied up the prize pool was $546,000.

The field was littered with big names like Barry Greenstein and Daniel Alaei of High Stakes Poker fame. Many of the “flavor of the month club” online poker pros were there as well like James “Andy McLEOD” Obst and Chris “Moorman1” Moorman. First place was to pay out $98,280 and it was a great battle of the stacks leading the ultimate winner of the event James Obst.

Now let’s get back to Chris “Money800” Moneymaker. He plowed through the field of over one thousand players and made the final table in a bid to win the whole thing. While he wound up going out in 5th place for a modest payday of $28,665, Chris has shown us again that he’s not a one trick pony.

Great Job Chris!
