Bodog Awards first 2010 WSOP Qualifier

Even though the 2009 World Series of Poker has yet to crown a Main Event champion, that has not prevented players and online poker sites from looking ahead to 2010.  Over the weekend, Bodog wrapped up its 2009 Bodog Mini Poker series by handing out a seat to 2010’s Main event.  The seat was the 2nd one awarded to next year’s tournament as this year’s bubble boy at the main event was given a free seat to next year’s tournament.

As part of it’s Mini Poker Series main event, Bodog awarded a $12,000 prize package that includes the $10,000 Main Event seat.  The lucky recipient was John “Getn_Outa_MI” Ormsby as he survived the small field of 82 to take the top prize.  In an interview published on the site, he said, “The possibility of winning a seat in next year’s Main Event was the main reason I was interested in playing in the Bodog Mini Poker Series.  I’ve always wanted to go to Vegas to play in the World Series, but have never had the chance. The Mini Series provided me with a great opportunity to do so.”

Most of the other online poker sites don’t intend to begin qualifying for the main event until after the new year.

Now that this exciting promotional series is over, Bodog will now be shifting its focus back to it’s signature Bodog Flight Club. The Flight Club awards players packages to major poker tournaments all over the world, including the European Poker Tour, World Poker Tour and Latin American Poker Tour.  These are a great opportunity for players to earn remarkable experiences for minimal financial risk as qualifiers start as low as $1 to enter.  With the summer months drawing to a close, the opportunities and action at Bodog have never been hotter.
