Ashton Griffin, Richard Lyndaker Blog Battle

by Jeremy

Ashton “theashman103″ Griffin and Richard “Nutsinho” Lyndaker are two of the most successful online poker players in the history of the game. But the two didn’t see eye-to-eye recently after a little comment battle on LeggoPoker.com.

The story started when Nutsinho wrote a blog post called “What Up,” where he talked about how both his social life and poker profits have been a little slow since moving to Canada. One excerpt from the post read:

So far, Canada has been quite emotionally taxing. I’ve been grinding Omaha since that is where the vast majority of the 25/50+ action occurs nowadays. It is a bit of a change-up because I am not generally the best player at the tables unless I am intensely focused and on my A+ game. Twice in the past 10 days, I was ahead 250k and subsequently lost all of my profit, and I’ve only played one brief session at higher than 50/100.

After several positive comments on Lyndaker’s blog, Griffin posted this comment, “If you are a break-even player and in fact break-even, then you are neither running good or bad. I’d estimate your edge, positive or negative, to be pretty close to 0 in the PS lineups I’ve seen going.”

Lyndaker seemed to take particular offense to this comment, and he wrote back the following, “ashton- do you ever get exhausted of being negative toward everything you encounter during your days? You don’t have the foggiest idea about how good or bad I am at PLO, you haven’t played in these games, and yet you feel the need to make some dumb ass comment. It’s no wonder no one likes you anymore.”

He also wrote, “LOL at the notion that this was constructive criticism. He just says “if you are a breakeven player then you should expect to break even.” This amounts to nothing more than trolling. It is about as insightful as saying “if you are an apple then you are a piece of fruit.” Ashton’s intentions are usually better than how he comes across but this is really abrasive behavior.”

It’s unknown if there has ever been any bad blood between these two players before, but it doesn’t look like they’re going to be hanging out any time soon either.
