2009 WSOPE Europe in Full Swing

by AintLuck.com Poker Team

In 2008, poker pro John Juanda recorded his greatest poker achievement to date, he took down the WSOPE Main Event bracelet, and this year he is back looking to defend his title. Though the field is substantially smaller than the US WSOP version which is the crown jewel of the poker world, the accomplishment was still impressive as he outlasted a top international field. Should he successfully defend, he would become the first player to do so.

While the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas award over 50 bracelets each year, the event in London, England features just 4, making the jewelry much tougher to earn. The main event got underway on September 25th and features just 2 day one’s although with just 334 entrants it could have done so in just 1 day. With the field filtered down so, Juanda appears to have his work cut out for him as only the best of the best participate, much the WSOP’s coveted $50K HORSE event
