Asian Poker Tour Manila - APT

Poker pros are gearing up for the Asian Poker Tour coming to Manila, Philippines for the first leg from May 27th, 2008 to June 1st, 2008. The Asian Poker Tour held a press conference with APT director, Chris Parker, laying out the details of the event such as the structure of the tournament.

Parker is expecting about 400 players to take part in the Philippine leg of the APT with nearly a third of those participants anticipated to be local players. In addition to the tournament, there will be a humanitarian aspect to this leg as celebrity participants will be playing and donating at least 400,000 Php to the charity of choice.

The total prize pool for this leg of the APT is $1,000,000 with a reasonable $2,500 buy-in. Fortunately, there are plenty of online satellite qualifiers for poker players to qualify for the APT. In particular, Party Poker is offering a number of online qualifiers which include $6,000 prize packages that will cover hotel and travel expenses.
